There comes a point in life when you realize that giving all of yourself—showing up time and time again, loving without limits—doesn’t always result in recognition or celebration. It can be discouraging when people bond with those who’ve wronged them instead of appreciating those who’ve stood by their side. But here’s the truth: your worth in Christ isn’t measured by how others see you or celebrate you. It’s rooted in the value God has placed within you.
In this season of personal empowerment, I’ve realized that it’s time to let go of the dead weight. For too long, I’ve carried burdens that weren’t mine to bear, and it’s kept me from fully stepping into the purpose God has for my life. I’m not looking for recognition, and I don’t need validation. What I seek now is alignment with God’s truth about who I am. When people create false narratives about me, it no longer defines my journey. Their perception doesn’t change my reality, nor does it alter the path God has me on.
We all experience moments where it feels like no one is checking on us, even though we’re the ones constantly reaching out. But we cannot allow these moments to harden our hearts or dim our light. When I express my feelings now, it’s not about seeking approval, but about releasing the things that no longer serve me. I’m not here to justify my emotions; I’m here to walk in truth and peace.
Life has taught me valuable lessons—some of the toughest from the people I once leaned on. Yet, through it all, I’ve learned resilience and strength. I’ve learned that even when support is absent, God has been my strength. No one walked me through the difficult moments of being fatherless or how to stand strong when life felt overwhelming, but God did. And in that process, I discovered that true love and strength come from within, not from those around me.
Choosing me isn’t an act of selfishness—it’s an act of self-preservation. I’m no longer carrying the weight of false expectations or manipulated stories. I’ve released the need for others to validate my experiences or my worth. I’m stepping into the freedom that comes from knowing my identity in Christ, and that’s a freedom no one can take away.
So, I’m moving forward with love, with peace, and with the confidence that I’m on the right path. Choosing yourself doesn’t mean you’re abandoning others—it means you’re refusing to abandon *you*. I will keep my heart open, my spirit strong, and trust God to guide every step of my journey, as I let go of what’s been holding me back and embrace what He has in store.
This is the season of stepping into purpose, releasing what weighs me down, and choosing freedom over fear. It's time to choose me.
There are so many gems that i will take with me from this blog.
